Privacy & Cookie Notice

How we handle your data, what cookies are used, and your rights.

Last updated 23 August 2026

What data we collect

ScoreIndexer (scoreindexer.com) is operated by Aryan Kumar. This notice explains what data is collected when you visit the site, how it is used, and your choices.

We use analytics to understand how visitors use the site, and we display advertisements through Google AdSense. Neither analytics nor advertising cookies load until you consent — our consent management fires before any tracking script.

Google Analytics (GA4)

We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to measure site traffic, page views, and user engagement. GA4 collects:

  • Pages visited and time spent
  • Device type, browser and operating system
  • Approximate geographic location (country and city level, derived from anonymised IP)
  • Referral source (how you arrived at the site)

IP addresses are anonymised (anonymize_ip: true). GA4 does not collect names, email addresses, or other personally identifying information.

You can opt out of Google Analytics across all websites by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

Google AdSense

We display advertisements through Google AdSense to support the site. Google and its advertising partners may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this site or other sites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.

You can opt out of personalised advertising at Google Ads Settings. For more information, see Google’s advertising policies.

We implement Google Consent Mode v2. Before any analytics or advertising script loads, our consent layer sets all consent signals to denied:

gtag('consent', 'default', { ad_storage: 'denied', ad_user_data: 'denied', ad_personalization: 'denied', analytics_storage: 'denied', functionality_storage: 'granted', security_storage: 'granted', wait_for_update: 500 });

When you click “Accept all”, these signals are updated to granted and GA4 loads. When you click “Reject non-essential”, they remain denied and no analytics or advertising cookies are set.

Your choice is stored in your browser’s localStorage (key: tsi_consent_v1) so you are not asked again. You can change your choice at any time by clearing your browser’s local storage for this site, which will re-display the consent banner.

Cookies used on this site

No analytics or advertising cookies are set until you consent. The only storage that operates without consent is functionality_storage (your consent choice) and security_storage.

localStorage

We use your browser’s localStorage for the following, none of which is sent to any server:

  • Consent choice (tsi_consent_v1) — whether you accepted or rejected non-essential cookies.
  • Recently viewed tools — so you can find your way back to a calculator you used before. Stored locally, never transmitted.
  • Saved calculator inputs — if a calculator offers a “save” feature, the inputs are stored in your browser only.

Your rights under GDPR (EEA visitors)

If you are in the European Economic Area, the UK, or Switzerland, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Rectify inaccurate data.
  • Erase your data (“right to be forgotten”).
  • Restrict processing in certain circumstances.
  • Object to processing based on legitimate interests.
  • Portability — receive your data in a structured, commonly used format.
  • Withdraw consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.

Legal basis for processing: consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR) for analytics and advertising cookies. Legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f)) for essential site functionality and security.

Your rights under CCPA (California residents)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to:

  • Know what personal information is collected and how it is used.
  • Delete your personal information.
  • Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information.
  • Non-discrimination for exercising your rights.

We do not sell personal information. Google’s use of advertising cookies may constitute “sharing” under the CCPA. You can opt out by clicking “Reject non-essential” on the consent banner or by adjusting your preferences at Google Ads Settings.

Data retention

Google Analytics data is retained for 14 months, after which it is automatically deleted. AdSense cookies expire as noted in the table above. localStorage data persists until you clear your browser storage.

Changes to this notice

We will update this notice when our data practices change. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Material changes to how we use personal data will reset the consent banner so you can make a new choice.
