Who builds the calculators, how every page is made, and the verification process each tool goes through before publication.

I build sports scoring calculators and document the standards behind them. As an active basketball player and competitive swimmer, I understand what it means to look up a number you’re about to be judged by — a points score, a time equivalent, a handicap — and need to trust that the tool got the formula right.

I’m currently pursuing my graduation at RKDF University, where my background in technology and my involvement in competitive sport converge in this project. I read the governing-body rulebooks, implement the published formulas, test them against worked examples from the source documents, and write up the limits so you know exactly what the number can and cannot tell you.

I am not a rules official, a coach, or a licensed clinician — where a page touches training or health, it cites the published research and says what the numbers cannot tell you. My competence is in implementing published formulas correctly, citing the version, and documenting the limits.

How pages are made

Every calculator and article on ScoreIndexer follows the same process:

Rulebook first

The governing-body document — the WHS Rules of Handicapping, the IPF Technical Rules, the ICC playing conditions, or the relevant peer-reviewed paper — is read first. Not a summary, not another website. The primary source.

Formula transcribed

The formula is written out in full on the page with a variable glossary. The coefficient set or table version is identified by body, document name, version year, and the date we checked it.

Tested against a worked example

Where the source document provides a worked example, we test our implementation against it and note that we did. Four test cases per tool: normal value, boundary value, unit-switch round-trip, and source worked example.

Version recorded

Every coefficient set, factor table, and base-time set is entered in the version register on the methodology page, with the body, version/year, date checked, and tools affected.

Limits documented

Every tool states what the number does not mean, where the formula is least reliable, and what an official process would include that this estimate does not. The accuracy note is not optional.
